Rothschild, a leading corporate advisory firm, has put together a team of traders led by Martin Fraenkel, who joined the bank as head of commodities in 2002, to provide pricing, structuring and dealing services for clients. "This market continues to have huge growth potential and we believe there is an opportunity for banks like Rothschild with strong contacts and expertise in the natural resources sector," Fraenkel said in a statement. Rothschild [ROT.UL] has strong links with the oil and gas sector, having advised a long list of clients on energy projects over many years. The bank also has a major presence in precious metals trading, providing hedging products for clients. It chairs the London gold fix, where five banks fix the price of gold twice a day, a process that has gone on for more than 80 years. Kamal Murari, formerly at JP Morgan JPM.N , joined in March this year as head of origination and marketing for the new oil business. Lars Bjerkan, who moved from Credit Suisse First Boston CSGZn.VX , will take on a senior role in marketing and report to Murari. Vincent Godier, formerly at Credit Lyonnais, is head of trading and Franck-Eric Fischer, who joined from Societe Generale in July, will be a senior trader.
