Goldman, N.M. Rothschild Advise HK Airport
The Associated Press Thursday, August 28, 2003; 2:31 PM
HONG KONG - Hong Kong's Airport Authority announced Thursday it has hired Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C. and N.M. Rothschild & Sons (Hong Kong) Ltd. as advisers for the upcoming privatization of its Chek Lap Kok airport.
The two firms will be consulted on regulatory and financial issues, the Airport Authority said in a statement.
Hong Kong hopes to raise cash to pare down its budget deficit by selling stakes in the airport, which has a present asset value of 37 billion Hong Kong dollars ($4.7 billion).
The privatization process is expected to take 18 months.
