Rothschild appoints vice chairman for Germany Fri September 26, 2003 11:49 AM ET
LONDON, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Rothschild has hired former Citigroup investment banker Ulrich Paefgen as its executive vice chairmain in Germany, the bank said on Friday. Paefgen, who will take up his job on October 1, has more than 20 years experience in the industry. He was most recently at Citigroup C.N , where he was managing director and head of German mergers and acquisitions. Previously he worked at SG Warburg, now part of UBS UBSZn.VX , and First Boston, now Credit Suisse First Boston CSGZn.VX .
Rothschild [ROT.UL] has been building up its German business and in April this year hired chemicals and healthcare banker Hans Meier-Scherling from Morgan Stanley MWD.N .
The bank has a team of 50 employees in Germany and will be adding more staff in the future, the bank said.
