Al Qaeda Warns Bush Administration; Real War is Now
DUBAI, August 04, 2003 - The Dubai-based Arabic satellite channel Al-Arabiyaon aired on Sunday the first audiotape of Ayman Al Zawahiri, a physician and the founder of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and right-hand man of Al Qaeda leader Usama Bin Laden. Zawahiri warns in the recording that if the prisoners at Guantanamo are harmed, the "United States will pay dearly".
Al Zawahiri challenged the Bush administration, saying, “America has announced it will start putting on trial in front of military tribunals the Muslim detainees at Guantanamo and might sentence them to death. . . I swear in the name of God that the crusader America will pay a dear price for any harm it inflicts on any of the Muslim detainees. We tell America only one thing: what you have suffered until now is only the initial skirmishes. The real battle has not started yet. Let it be clear to those who conspire with America that America cannot even protect itself, let alone protect others."
The U.S. administration warned airline companies against the possible attacks and President Bush said on Wednesday that they tried to prevent a real al Qaeda threat. Cihan News Agency / / DUBAI
