SEC seeking documents from former Enron CEO Mon September 29, 2003 12:40 PM ET WASHINGTON, Sept 29 (Reuters) - The Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday filed a court order to force former Enron Corp. ENRNQ.PK Chief Executive Kenneth Lay to produce documents in the SEC's investigation into the bankrupt energy trader. The SEC said Lay was withholding documents, which appeared to be related to corporate records but added that Lay has refused to produce them under an SEC subpoena on the grounds that by doing so would violate his Fifth Amendment rights.
Lay's attorney, Michael Ramsey, was in trial and not immediately available for comment.
