Sen. Hollings discusses outsourcing

(Columbia) March 30, 2004 - One of the hot issues in the presidential race has to do with the dangers of sending jobs overseas, also known as outsourcing.

South Carolina Senator Fritz Hollings (D) was in the national spotlight on CNN Monday night talking about the dangers of sending jobs overseas, "Free trade, you got to be able to compete. I'm not against free trade, I am trying to obtain free trade."

Senator Hollings has introduced the job protection act into Congress. The bill is aimed at keeping American jobs in this country. He outlined some of the main points of his bill, "The first order of business is to organize in a comprehensive way, stop sponsoring some export of jobs."

Senator Hollings also says that we need to get rid of the off-shore tax break incentives and offer more incentives to American manufacturers.
