Rabin assassin in appeal bid
The three men convicted of conspiring to murder Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, have appealed against the conviction.
The three include Yigal Amir, who received a life prison sentence for carrying out the assassination, as well as a five-year sentence for conspiracy.
The other two men are Amir's brother Hagai, sentenced to 12 years, and Dror Adnani, sentenced to seven years, both on conviction of conspiracy.
The appeal was heard in the Jerusalem Supreme Court on Monday. It is not yet known when the court will announce its decision on the appeal.
Amir, a right-wing religious Jew and a student at the time of the assassination, said during the trial that he had killed Mr Rabin to try and stop the prime minister's participation in peace negotiations with the Palestinians.
Mr Rabin's death had a profound impact on Middle East politics.
Less than a year after the assassination, the conservative Likud party leader Binyamin Netanyahu came to power after the replacement Labour prime minister, Shimon Peres, failed to persuade the Israeli people that he was tough enough on security issues.
