Prime Minister Tony Blair earlier confirmed that a number of British personnel died when a Hercules crashed northwest of Baghdad. No details have yet been released about what caused the C-130 Hercules transport plane to come down. If the casualties are confirmed, it would be the biggest loss of life for Britain's forces since they joined the U.S.-led military action to topple former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Before Sunday's incident, 29 British troops had been killed in combat in Iraq and 43 more had died in non-combat incidents.
