That's the bottom line of the Bushes' tax return, which was released by the White House. About half of the income came from Bush's salary of 400-thousand dollars. The rest was earned by the trusts in which the first couple's assets are held. The return also shows more than 68-thousand dollars in charitable donations. Meantime, Vice President Cheney and his wife Lynne made one-point-three (m) million dollars last year -- and paid 259-thousand dollars in taxes. Their income included 179-thousand dollars in deferred compensation from Cheney's years as head of Halliburton.
