Two US missiles hit Turkey

No damage or casualties were reported after the Tomahawk missiles came to earth in Turkey’s south east.

March 24— Washington has confirmed Turkish reports that two Tomahawk missiles, aimed at Iraq, went off course on Sunday and hit Turkey.

The two missiles struck farmland in the south eastern province of Sanliurfa, scattering debris but causing no damage or casualties, according to Turkish media reports.
“Two Tomahawk cruise missiles misfired, landing in an unpopulated area in the Republic of Turkey,” the Reuters news agency quoted a US defence official as saying Sunday. “There were no reported injuries.”
Turkey has only agreed late Friday evening to give the US access to its airspace as part of military operations against neighbouring Iraq. US missiles have also gone off course near southern Iraq, hitting Iran and reportedly injuring at least two people.
