The testimony came at a bond hearing for 42-year-old Chester James Doles, a Dahlonega man who authorities say was the Georgia organizer of the National Alliance and a former Ku Klux Klan grand dragon. FBI Special Agent Joseph Thompson said an informant who met with Doles since 2001 told police about law enforcement ties to the group. No names were mentioned in court. Thompson said, ``That shows that Mister Doles has a support network including law enforcement.'' He said you vastly increase the capacity of the network by having authorities as members because they can look the other way. U.S. Magistrate Linda Walker denied bond to Doles, who was arrested last week on charges he was a felon in possession of firearms. Walker mentioned the law enforcement connections when refusing bond.
