But the kiss -- Spears' first girl-on-girl action -- wasn't rehearsed. The pop princess told Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood" that the idea came up in rehearsal, but was still a spontaneous moment on stage. "[Madonna's] ...threw it around a couple of times in rehearsals, but she just kind of said, 'You know, do what you feel, you know, in the performance . . . just go with it and see what happens,'" Spears said. "And that's what happened. Spears said she was surprised that the lip-lock garnered so much buzz -- and that the moment was more than a quick peck. "I didn't know to that extent that it was gonna be that long and stuff," she said Spears, who has a new album coming out in November, will headline Thursday night's NFL kickoff celebration, along with Aerosmith, Mary J. Blige, Good Charlotte and Aretha Franklin. Spears said she left the United States for England immediately after the Aug. 28 MTV awards show and was unaware of all the media attention the kiss received. But would she do it again? "I hadn't kissed anyone in a long time," she responded, "so that should last me for awhile." The Associated Press and the New York Post contributed to this report.
