Raid on Guatemalan human rights activist
An armed gang has raided the house of a senior human rights activist in Guatemala with close links to a Roman Catholic bishop who was killed last year.
The activist, Ronalth Ochaeta, director of the human rights office of the Roman Catholic archbishop in Guatemala told the BBC that three armed men burst into his home and threatened his four-year-old son and an employee with a pistol.
After searching through his personal effects, the gang left behind a box containing a piece of concrete - the same material used last year to club to death the Bishop, Juan Gerardi.
Mr Ochaeta described the raid as an act of intimidation and accused the same people of being behind both the killing and the raid on his home.
No-one has yet been brought to justice for killing the Bishop, who was murdered days after publishing a report blaming the country's security forces for many of the atrocities committed during the civil war.
