The suit would allow the legislators to return home -- but not be forced to return to the chamber. Also republican state senators, including Todd Staples of Palestine, had hoped to meet with the "Texas 11" today in New Mexico. The eleven democratic senators have been in New Mexico for more than a week, after fleeing the Texas Capitol july 28th in opposition to plans to take up congressional redistricting.
