Ramzi Binalshibh: Key facts
Ramzi Binalshibh is named as an unindicted co-conspirator in Zacarias Moussaoui's federal indictment.
The German Federal Court of Justice issued a warrant for the arrest of Ramzi Mohamed Abdullah Binalshibh on September 21, 2001, for suspicion of membership in a terrorist organization, murder of several thousand people, and other crimes, in connection with the September 11th attacks.
He was a member of the al Qaeda cell in Hamburg, Germany.
The Hamburg cell included September 11 hijackers Mohamed Atta, Ziad Jarrahi, and Marwan Al-Shehhi.
Four times, he attempted to get a visa for entry to the United States, but was denied each time.
He had contacted American flight schools.
Some investigators believe he was originally intended to be the 20th hijacker.
He handled numerous money transfers to hijacker Marwan Al-Shehhi and for Zacarias Moussaoui.
Until his capture in Karachi, Binalshibh's whereabouts were unknown. He was last seen in Hamburg in August 2001. (source: CNN)
