Chavez accepts resignation of oil company's board

CARACAS (AFP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that prior to the two-day coup he had accepted the resignations of of the board members of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) the state oil company.

A strike by Petroleos de Venezuela managers last week had triggered mass street protests that culminated in a military coup Chavez's temporary removal from power on Friday.

Chavez was restored in power early Sunday, after the coup fizzled.
