Woman who reported 'threats' hospitalized

A woman who said she overheard three men talking about committing terrorism in Miami was hospitalized Monday with chest pains, her attorney said Monday.

Eunice Stone, a 44-year-old nurse, went to Emory Hospital in Cartersville as a precaution, said attorney Mike Prieto. ``She's obviously been undergoing an extreme amount of stress,'' Prieto said. ``After being portrayed as a racist by many members of the mediA, it's put a lot of strain on her and her family as well.''

Stone held a news conference Sunday so she could say one more time what she heard at the Shoney's restaurant in Calhoun on Thursday morning. She said three men with Middle Eastern features talked about blowing up buildings and laughed about Sept. 11.

The three men claim they never made terrorist threats, and that they were just medical students on their way to training in Miami.

Stone also may have been stressed because she had heard a rumor the men were considering filing a civil lawsuit against her for slander, Prieto said.
