Foreign Office refutes cooperation between RAW, ISI

ISLAMABAD: Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Masood Khan on Wednesday, in his weekly press briefing emphatically denied any reported cooperation between the Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) and has termed the news as totally baseless.

Replying to a question, Masood Khan firmly supported Hurriyet leader, Abbas Ansari’s demand relating to stopping forthwith all human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

He further said that India-Pakistan talks on the water issue progressing as Indus Water Commission remains in constant contact in this regard. He affirmed that there had not been any change in Pakistan’s options on the issue.

“We have informed the Indian Government about our concerns on the matters relating to the Line of Control as there has been no change of circumstances in occupied Kashmir,” he said. He further said that a composite dialogue was required and the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations.

Replying to another question, he told that the military operation in South Waziristan aims at destroying the network of the terrorists. He told that in case of Osama Bin Laden’s arrest under Anti-terrorist Law, he might be handed over to his native country only.

The spokesman denied the arrest of the Al-Qaida leader Ayman Al Zawahiri’s son and wife during the operation and termed this report a white lie. He also called this information incorrect that Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan had contacts with the underworld and added, “However, it is being investigated.”
