Ruby Ridge survivor to appear at gun show
DUBUQUE, Iowa The man at the center of the 1992 Ruby Ridge standoff with federal authorities is scheduled to promote his books in Dubuque at a weekend gun show.
White separatist Randy Weaver, whose wife and 14-year-old son were killed during the nine-day standoff in northern Idaho, now lives in Iowa and travels the gun show circuit.
Organizers say the R-K Show in Dubuque will include as many as 300 tables filled with guns, knives, swords, tactical equipment and other items.
The standoff at a mountain cabin near Ruby Ridge, Idaho, occurred after federal authorities tried to arrest Weaver on weapons charges.
In the exchange of gunfire, Weaver's wife, son and a U-S marshal were killed. Weaver surrendered 14 days later.
He was acquitted of murder, conspiracy and other federal charges.
